We do not recommend the use of any 'bungy' type elastic cords under any circumstances with any roof rack system, as they are potentially dangerous.
Tough webbing straps and buckles, or with ratchets, offer by far the best and safest solution.
Ladder brackets provide the easiest and safest method of securing ladders to a roof bar - and quick release buckles on our webbing straps can also be used (plus they have so very many other potential uses). Of course for small vans etc we have roller systems etc in the appropriate (Van Rack Accessories) category section.
If you need to regularily transport items on a rack then we urge you to consider adding the very useful accessories to 'make the task' easier!
